Servelec Technologies is very happy to hear that Wessex Water, a long-standing customer of over 30 years, has been recognised with a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) award for their £230m supply grid project.

Started in 2010, Wessex Water’s water supply grid development has enabled the water company to meet demand in their area for the next 25 years without the need to develop new resources. The project is adding more than 200km of new pipeline including a 75km north-south trunk main.

As a winner of a South West award, the project will compete against other regional winners at the national RICS Awards Grand Final on 2 November in London. Congratulations to the team at Wessex Water.

Servelec Technologies’ real-time automated water network control system OptiMISER manages the transfer of water in numerous simultaneous directions along the trunk main by automatically controlling pumps and valves based on demand and the telemetry data collected from their network.

Marcus Fowler, Technical Director for Servelec Technologies, commented “We are absolutely delighted that we were involved in the journey for Wessex Water to win the RICS award. The success bears testament to their hard work.”
